Many different units of measurement are used in truck transport. The requirements of trucks are established in international requirements that determine the mass limit and dimensions of the vehicles used for goods transport.
Units of measurement per vehicle:
Weight of goods: up to 24 tonnes
Volume of goods: 85-112 m³
Loading surface: up to 13.6 lm (loading metres)
Capacity: up to 33 EUR-pallets
Typical interior dimensions of semi-trailer: 13.6 m (length) x 2.4 m (width) x 2.65 m (height)
1 EUR-pallet measures 1200 x 800 mm
1 FIN-pallet measures 1200 x 1000 mm
In transporting partial loads, the cost of transport is calculated on the basis of the highest indicator of the weight or volume of the goods. 1 cbm (cubic metre) = 333 kg, 1 lm (loading metre) = 1850 kg, 1 EUR-pallet = 0.4 lm = 740 kg, 1 FIN-pallet = 0.5 lm = 925 kg
